The School of Life /
Pearls of Wisdom  ⟶

In 2015 I collaborated with philosopher Alain de Botton’s School of Life to launch their school in São Paulo, Brazil. I’ve created a series of pearls of wisdom posters, inspired by popular aphorisms in Brazil, challenging the traditional highbrow ideas and quotes associated with philosophical schools.  

The posters were printed using and old style letterpress technique unique to South America, called Lambe-Lambe, ubiquitous in São Paulo and commonly used to publicize popular events and concerts around the city. These were pasted all over São Paulo and championed popular Brazilian wisdom.
